| Chiune Sugihara was the Japanese Consul General to Lithuania in 1940. When the War broke out Sugihara‘s office was flooded with visa requests from thousands of Jews fleeing German-occupied Poland. In defiance of his government‘s specific orders, Chiune Sugihara issued Japanese transit visas to an estimated over 6,000 Polish Jews. This drama reconstructs the events of that time on the actual locations. |
